Last weekend on Saturday, Nov.12, it was a great fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez in Los Vegas. Of course Manny won the fight and remains world champion. That same week Guru Bee was invited to LA to attend some important meetings by his friend Shawn Zenkins , TV and Fitness Video Producer in Hollywood. Due to the busy schedule of Guru Bee they had a phone conference with Smiley Wilkins, who is one of the executive members of the Cie Aura. This company produces an evolutionary product which is an alternative to drugs/medication helping millions suffering from allergy, pain and sleeplessness. The product is a tiny chip called the Energy Chip, which you place on your body. There is no need to purchase any other prescription drugs or medication at the local pharmacy. All you need is this tiny chip and you will notice a difference within minutes. Then Smiley offered Guru Bee to promote the product. According to Smiley, this product has become very popular among various professional fighters, celebrities and sports personalities. He also mentioned about the involvement of Manny Pacquiao who is promoting this product in the Philippines.

The next morning Guru Shuny was at the Griffith Observatory Park, next to the Hollywood billboard sign, where the locals and tourists come for their morning walk and exercise. As he started his personal training a small crowd gathered around and watched him train and he was asked if he was going to fight with Manny Pacoquiao on Saturday night fight. When Guru Bee asked why they told him that Manny Pacquiao has just left the place a few minutes ago after his training. This was a great coincidence because of the conversation Guru had with Smiley the previous night regarding the Energy Chip.
Griffith Observatory is the place where Guru Bee started to write his very first book - The Way of the Nunchaku in 1993. During that time he was crippled for almost a year. His right knee was broken and thankfully his car was an automatic so he was able to drive and walk with the help of crutches. Any physical activities were just a dream for him at that time. He had to stay away from teaching and training martial arts for a long time. He used to drive his car from the apartment to the Observatory almost every day and spent hours wondering where his life would lead to in such a miserable condition. Those were the moments which gave birth to his book – The Way of the Nunchaku, available in different martial arts suppliers cross the country. Guru Bee’s quote-“Every time I go to LA, I visit the Griffith Observatory to pay respect to the place and continue my training. That is the place where I first started to express both my talents and my thoughts in words. This is definitely a place of enlightenment for me.”

I was quite touched by the life of Guru Shunny Bee's life story of dedication to martial arts.I am sure that in time to come Americans and the Gorkhas will be greatful to him for the Gorkha martial arts which he has devised from a fusion of his love for his land of birth as a Gorkha and his adopted land America.
